The European Commission is the EU's executive body and represents the interests of Europe as a whole (as opposed to the interests of individual countries).

 


 

European Commission, Environmente - LIFE Programme

LIFE is the EU's financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation projects throughout the EU, as well as in some candidate, acceding and neighbouring countries. Since 1992, LIFE has co-financed some 3506 projects, contributing aproximately €2.5billion to the protection of the environment.

 

 


 

 Best LIFE Projects

The overall objective of the Best LIFE Projects exercise is to help improve the dissemination of LIFE project results by clearly identifying those projects whose results, if widely applied, could have the most positive impact on the environment.

 

 

 


 

European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)

ECHA is the driving force among regulatory authorities in implementing the EU's groundbreaking chemicals legislation for the benefit of human health and the environment as well as for innovation and competitiveness. ECHA helps companies to comply with the legislation, advances the safe use of chemicals, provides information on chemicals and addresses chemicals of concern.
