Nanomaterials added to EC approved List of Food Contact Materials

regulation amending and correcting EC Regulation 10/2011on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food shows that three nanomaterials have been approved for such use. Furthermore another material has been amended to allow for the nanoform of it to be used.

EC SCENIHR releases Final Opinion on Guidance for Nanomaterials used in Medical Devices

The European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) has published its final opinion on the Guidance on the Determination of Potential Health Effects of Nanomaterials Used in Medical Devices, following a consultation to which eleven organisations, including NIA, responded.
